  • Ava - We continued to work on embouchure/aperture, air, and posture to establish consistent fundamental sound

What to do

  • Ava- Establish good consistent sound and coordinate fingerings for Bb, C, D

Looking Ahead

Clarinets/Alto Saxophone

What we did (Soren, and Gwyeneth AB)
Antonio
  • Met performance targets for line 7 and established performance targets for line 16 and 17
    • Still looking for a firmer embouchure and good bite so the air can work more efficiently to establish a more centered tone and facility.
    • Still struggles reading the note names and coordinating the fingerings while reading the rhythms.
Delaney
  • Met performance targets for line 17 and 23
  • Established performance targets for line 25 and 28
    • Reading and playing well but inconsistent. This is probably a reflection of his practice habits. Can he be as good as his potential?
      • Pitches are still flat; firming up the embouchure through the upper cheek area should help with intonation and create a fuller sound. How do I get him to feel those details are important?

What to do
  • Continue to meet performance targets to earn Karate Band Belts (beads)
    • Each student has individual needs

Looking Ahead
  • Begin All-City Music

Percussion (Michael AB?)
What we did
  • Assessed Haskell-Harr Lesson 7 line 9
    • Played through each line and counted outline to coordinate hands with time. Not everything great but shows understanding

What to do
  • Meet performance targets for Haskell-Harr Lesson 7
  • Apply to flam rudiment to Haskell-Harr Lesson 6

Looking Ahead
  • Buzz Strokes
  • Accents
  • Paradiddles
